    Urban research and public relations for the Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt Berlin on the IBA ’87.project partner: Urban Expert, specialized in consultancy for urban development.

    research: Preliminary study on the characteristic architecture and town planning of the IBA ’87. Field research in selected areas and recommendations for the preservation of urban and architectonic cultural value.

    visualization: Communication of research outcome through pictograms, illustrations and simplified cartoons. Visual layout integration in a predefined corporate design.

    outcome: Preliminary study summarized in this report. Flyers and handouts on the cultural value in selected areas of the IBA ’87 distributed by and at the Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt Berlin (Am Köllnischen Park 3).



FUTURE OF MAPS: THE AUTOMOTIVE CONTEXT.

    Visualizations for Julia Kleeberger’s doctoral thesis “The future of maps in the automotive context” commissioned by Volkswagen AG.

project partner: Julia Kleeberger, specialized in business innovation and human aspects in information technology.

visualization: Comic strips on typical user journeys exemplifying the handling and benefits of an innovative route guidance system. Map design, pictograms of urban landmarks and points of interest for the user interface (UID).

    My thesis research  in 2004 among old-town neighborhoods in Mexico City was the pilot project for all of my further urban endeavors. It resulted in the comic “Vecindad” and founded my lasting interest in Graphic journalism.
